The ex-President was not on the ballot but he was strong enough to force dozens of Republican candidates into a Faustian Pact: ‘say the 2020 election was stolen from me and I will endorse you’. It mostly didn’t work. The Democrats are set to lose their House majority but at a time of crippling inflation and rising crime they did better than expected and at this moment control of both houses still hangs in the balance. –
