For years now, Europe has depended on cheap Russian natural gas for its energy needs. Its industries, and in a way, the European Union’s whole economy has depended critically on Russian energy sources. The absence of Russian energy sources has now brought ruin upon European industries and the bloc’s economy. In their bid to shun reliance on Russian energy, European countries have taken several steps. In fact, the European Union is now shifting its energy reliance from Russia, to CHINA! Remember, much of the world sees China as an authoritarian country which has little to no regard for international rules. That in no way seems to be stopping Europe from hopping right into Beijing’s lap with its basket of energy needs. There are already signs of China beginning to exert political pressure on Europe.
