There are warnings that COVID-19 could mutate further within a year if more isn’t done to help developing nations battle the disease. A new report backed by a coalition of aid, health, and business groups is urging Australia to contribute another 20 million vaccines to the global COVAX initiative. Professor Jeffrey Mphahlele, deputy vice chancellor for research and innovation at North-West University in South Africa, tells The World while vaccination rates are growing across Africa, the pacing has been slow.
