A crisis and a horror story is how the state of homelessness is being described in the Northern Territory. New statistics have backed up what Territorians already know – that the rate of homelessness in the NT is shocking. Indigenous people make up 87% of the NT’s homeless population, just over half are women and overcrowded housing remains the biggest driver. Eleni Roussos looks at the dire state of homelessness in the Territory and the impact it’s having on the ground.
